Dreams Fade

Every day
I see the same faces

Wandering along
The same streets

Going to the same
Places

But never
Will they meet

Caught in this story
Called life

Reality
Slowly sets in

My heart
Is filled with pain and strife

Will I ever
Be happy again

For each day
That passes
Means I'm one day older
Means I'm one day wiser
Means I'm one day closer
To the grave

But each day
Looks the same

Once I had dreams
Of leading an exciting life

Of singing my songs
Of being a good wife

But dreams
Fade with the day

And turn black
As night

And I ask myself
Why?
Did I let
My dreams die?

For each day

Plays upon your face
